October 12, 2025 at 2:10 pm #12105Hi Kevin, I’m watching your electric guitar “Coffee with Kevin” lesson. I used to have a Fender Standard Strat MIM, that was modified, with a Humbucker pickup but also had a single coil pickup, by the original owner. He played church gigs and mostly played Gibson Les Paul. He added the Humbucker to get the Gibson sound but could switch it into the single coil for a Fender sound. He wasn’t satisfied and went back to Les Paul. He sold it to me pretty cheap, $300. But I liked it, just didn’t play it much. I ended up selling to a friend who uses it a lot. After several years I got the electric bug again and purchased this Yamaha Pacifica. Great guitar for me, great low price brand new. I’m happy with it, but still don’t play it enough. Glad you did this lesson.
October 13, 2025 at 10:15 am #12111Happy to help. That sounds like a great guitar. I owned a japanese strat back in the 80’s which I wish I still had :).
I have been playing a tele almost exclusively for the past 8 years or so.
Enjoy getting back into the electric 🙂
October 13, 2025 at 12:24 pm #12113I will say this. I have joined several guitar groups over the past few years; I planned to drop all but yours this year. I’m really enjoying your courses and the new material you add. The group is also fantastic, very friendly. Keep up the good work.
